Step 2 measure the width of the patio doors and transfer your measurement to the strip of one piece end molding.
The subfloor needs to be flat and smooth before installing the new laminate flooring.

Using the undercut saw and a scrap piece of laminate for backing cut the door jamb and adjoining trim away.
I use my table saw to cut the strips.
Note that you will leave the standard 1 4 inch expansion gap on either side of the doors.
Remove the old carpet or tile flooring.
Remove the furnishings from the room that you are installing the laminate flooring in.
The 1 2 inch gap is for the doorway only.
First butt a piece of laminate against the bottom of the door jamb and draw a line where the top of the laminate meets the door jamb.
Install the last row of laminate flooring stopping 1 2 inch from the bottom edge of the patio doors.
If the floor slopes up it will cause a hollow space underneath.
Install the flooring ending one half inch from the edge of the front door.
